Evolution does have passive directing by 'natural selection'. NS itself is a process. However, the result, survival of the fittetst, is not a process.
It is consequential and tautological.
Covolution proposes actively calculated and predicted direction by the object (biological information object) through the interaction with its environment (the rest excluding itself).
Gene drift proposes no direction whatsoever in the process itself and the outcome. However, the random processes are not independent but actively associated with with the environment. The environment in this universe has architecture. Therefore, even the random gene drift outcome has para-determined paths. Therefore, gene drift does have directions that is essentially the same kind as 'naturally selected' direction in life propagation.
